Scaling End-of-Line Packaging Automation
Integrating cobot and industrial robot cells with Vention's unified software environment.
Points forts de l'histoire
Mobile On-Premise Automation: Combining the modularity of Vention’s Rapid Series Palletizer with Sojo Flight’s proprietary mobile rover platforms to create an agile, transportable end-of-line packaging solution.
Empowered Operators with MachineApps: Drastically reducing engineering overhead. Operating staff can easily pick from predefined patterns or set up new product configurations on the fly without complex programming.
Unrivalled On-Site & Remote Support: Comprehensive start-to-finish integration by Vention technicians, backed by a unique “one-touch” remote support system built into the HMI, utilizing the rover’s independent 5G network.
A Collaborative Partnership, Not a Vendor: Shifting the paradigm from traditional transactional equipment vending to a long-term engineering partnership where both parties continuously invest in the modular value chain.
Le problème
In the fast-moving Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, producing variety packs and multi-packs presents heavy administrative headaches, unpredictable freight costs, and high CO2 emissions. To bypass these issues, Sojo Industries pioneered “Sojo Flight”—a mobile, on-premise manufacturing ecosystem.
However, taking automation on the road is incredibly difficult. To scale, Sojo needed robust, standardized palletizing systems that could endure being crated, relocated, and rapidly deployed across the country. They needed to combine the high payload and speed of industrial palletizers with the fast, highly flexible setup of collaborative palletizers—all running under a single, user-friendly digital architecture.
"When you're building a technology company in the manufacturing automation space, you're looking for more than just vendors—you're looking for partners. A partner forward-invests in your business and shows up in both good times and challenging times. That’s exactly what we found in Vention."
Le projet
The collaboration between Sojo and Vention started directly in the design phase, mapping out custom-tailored palletizing setups within tight physical constraints. By matching Vention’s compatible hardware stack directly with their unified software stack, the teams designed a truly “plug-and-play” mobile environment.
Vention’s engineering and technical teams then deployed on-site to handle the physical setup from start to finish, ensuring flawless hardware alignment, conveyor integration, and software commissioning. Through Vention’s intuitive HMI and MachineApps, Sojo gained the ability to run both collaborative and industrial palletizers on the same digital infrastructure. This allowed operators to switch pallet configurations in real-time, while integrated 5G cellular connectivity on the mobile rovers ensured Vention’s support engineers remained accessible at the touch of a button from anywhere in the country.
Les résultats
By partnering with Vention, Sojo Industries successfully scaled its mobile and industrial end-of-line packaging operations across its nationwide network. The deployment of five custom-configured robotic systems has allowed Sojo to dramatically increase production predictability, eliminate administrative friction, and lower freight emissions.
The introduction of MachineApps has given floor operators total control: they can create or select predefined pallet setups in real time without waiting for engineering support. Backed by robust physical modularity and 5G-connected remote support, Sojo is confidently expanding its automated fleet. Moving forward, the two companies plan to automate more of the manufacturing value chain, expanding into front-of-line processes, multi-packing, and automatic plastic de-kitting.
